Top Ten Tuesday...Traveling
This week, I'm following Oh Amanda's lead and going with a traveling/vacation theme. Although, Amanda is giving tips, I'm going to give my Top Ten things I learned from my family's first big trip this past week.
We traveled to Vermont, unfortunately, it was on bad terms; my grandma Grupe passed away last Tuesday. I had hoped to make it before she passed, but that wasn't God's plan. I think He wanted to take away her pain. She's with Him now, and I'm glad her pain is gone. Grandma, I love you so much and truly thank you for everything you gave to me.
So, the list: Top Ten things I learned from traveling with a 20 month old and my husband. I should mention our itinerary briefing...Flew into Boston (4.5hr flight), stayed overnight in Boston, drove to Vermont (3 hour car ride), stayed 3 nights, drove to Portsmouth, New Hampshire (2hr 40min drive), stayed the night, drove back to Boston (1 hour), flew home (6.5hr flight).
1. Carry on lightly...On the trip into Boston, I felt like we had SO much stuff: car seat, stroller, carry on for each of us. It was a lot. I got rid of 1 bag on the flight back home.
2. Have a direct flight...We went directly into Boston, but I think it would have been best to go directly into Vermont.
3. Have an open schedule...especially if travelling with a little one. They need naps.
4. Little ones shouldn't go to funerals; not because I think it will traumatize them, but they just don't understand they can't run around on the graves.
5. Bring a portable DVD player, iPad, whatever is available. It helped a TON to be able to watch Cars.
6. Don't forget the essentials: like baby wipes
7. No need to adjust to time change...this worked best for us. Little one stayed on west coast time the whole trip, not by our doing, but on his own. This seemed to work best overall, especially when we got home.
8. The day after you get home, plan to do nothing. Just take the little one to the park and get in some much needed play time.
9. Take lots of photos! (I know, duh)
10. RELAX! When both parents are relaxed, it makes for much less bickering =)

Seahawk Sunday
That's what I'm gonna make Sundays during football season. I couldn't get a picture to post, so I'll have to add one when I get home. I can't wait to be back home tomorrow. Come on Seahawks, beat the niners!

Found another one.
So, again, another new blog I found and another new idea I like; Wordless Wednesday. Thanks Lisa, over at http://www.ohboyohboyohboy.com/, I hope you don't mind that I stole this idea.
Because the theme is "wordless", I couldn't exactly do this post now with all these words written down. So, I'll wait the 9 minutes until midnight, then it'll technically be Wednesday, and I'll post.
See ya soon!

Top Ten Tuesday
I'm finding so many new blogs to follow, which is good. They give me ideas and things like "Top Ten Tuesday" or "5 Question Friday" as suggestions for posts. So, here's...
Today's list is top 10 fall TV show; in no particular order
1. Grey's Anatomy - ok, this really is probably my #1 pick. (Premiere 9/2)
2. Private Practice - Love it just as #1 (premieres 9/23)
3. The Secret Life of the American Teenager - on ABC Family. I think/hope it's starting up again this fall.
4. Ugly Betty - this show is no longer on TV, but at one point it was on my top 10 list, so I think it counts.
Ok, well I could only come up with 4 and really it's only 3. With a 1.5 year old, I don't get much time to watch TV.
Oh well, not a very good first top 10 list. Maybe next week's list will be easier!

5 Q Friday on Sunday
Wow, I'm really behind on my posts. It's Sunday and I completely forgot to post my 5 question Friday response! Ugh...I also finally finished my son's 1st year album/scrapbook, so I'll need to post those pictures soon.
1. What do you do when you have time to yourself?
When/If (and that's a big when/if) that happens, I like to scrap. It's my hobby and it's very relaxing for me. I'm in my own room, doing my own thing and all is quiet.
I'd also like to sleep, without having some little feet kicking me in the back, or some little hands pinching me. I like to cuddle, but the pinching and kicking have got to go :o)
2. When you look out your kitchen window, what do you see?
Our neighboring townhouses and the "cul de sac" where all the kids tend to play.
3. Who/What would you want to be reincarnated as?
Hmmm...a cat. This way I could be lazy if I want to be, cuddled if I want to be, fed when I need to be. Catch my drift?
4. What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids?
When they're not well behaved. My kid isn't perfect my any means, but the kids that are down right mean to other kids, those get to me. Here's my story: we were at a park a while back. My son was a little over a year old and he's a very social little guy. There was this other kid there, I'd say 4 years old. Well, every time my little guy would try a just walk toward him to play or even just walk around, this kid would just scream "no" at him. My husband and I were shocked. The parents basically did nothing to stop this behavior. I'm so glad my little guy is social, so far he's our only, but he doesn't act like it. Unlike this other little boy.
5. Regular or Diet soda?
No soda for me please. I prefer ice tea or some other sort of specialty drink thing (like Italian sodas, etc).
