Five Question Friday - 15 days until Christmas

Eeek, it's been almost a week since I've posted!  I need to be better about posting.  This week (my weekend) was long; both boys were sick and whiny = awful.
So, let's start off my week (Fridays are my Mondays) with the usual Five Question Friday.  Link up at Mama M's blog if you participate.

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Usually we do Christmas Day; however, both hubby and I are working all weekend (Friday thru Sunday), so we'll probably be doing Christmas the following Tuesday or Wednesday.  It's going to be a stressful Christmas weekend that I'm not looking forward to.

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie (or candy)?
The rainbow colored candy canes.  They aren't peppermint flavored, I think they're cherry flavored.  Those are my favorite.

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
A video game from my husband (boyfriend at the time).  It was one of the first gifts he got me and I was so hoping to something different.  I think I even told my girlfriends that was the one thing I didn't want.  My ex-boyfriend used to  buy me junk like that all the time.  I played video games, but so wanted something different.  Needless to say, husband hasn't made that mistake again.

4. Christmas song that you love?
     I just posted this somewhere...
Angels We Have Heard On High, O Holy Night and Little Drummer Boy
5. How many trees do you put up?
Just one, more than one would give more for the cat(s) to get in to.

Friday Fill-Ins - On Saturday!

I went home sick from work yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to do my Friday fill-in.  This week, there's 2 different fill-ins.  The first is the traditional and the second is a list where you have to identify Christmas songs by the initials of the first words of the first line of each song.  I'm going to try my hand at both!  Don't forget to link back here.

1. The best thing about a birthday celebration is THE FOOD.

2. Through the passage of time.

3. I went shopping recently and the most interesting thing I bought was cars for my son.

4. A fun child's game is any game.

5. The reason is it's a joy to see the excitement and smiles on their faces.
6. Lake Tahoe is snow and cold.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep, tomorrow my plans include working and Sunday, I want to stay home, but will be working!

1. HYAMLC: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
2. TFNTADS:
3. GRYMGLNYD:
4. ICUAMC:
5. SNHNAICAIB:
6. OTFDOCMTLGTM:
7. DTHWBOHFLLLLLLLL: Deck the Halls with Bows of Holly, Fa La La La La La La La La
8. YBWOYBNC:
9. JTTWTLHC: Joy To the World, The Lord Has Come

I tried my best racking my brain for these songs, but am not having any luck at the moment.  Leave a comment if you have the answer! :)

Five Question Friday - Making a list

Don't forget to link up over at Mama M's blog!
1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!
Nothing at the moment.  I can't seem to figure out what I want.  Every time I think of something, I just tell myself, "well, I don't really NEED it" and then cross it off my mental list.  Hubby keeps pestering me to give him a list, so I guess I need to start working on it.

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?

My favorite isn't a gift that I received, but I gift I had given.  It was the 52" television that I had delivered for my hubby.  Although, I had this whole elaborate plan to have it delivered and set up since I was 8 months pregnant, but things got messed up and I ended up having to tell hubby before it was delivered.  He still liked it though.
3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?

Hmmm, I do quite enjoy my job as a 911 dispatcher.  It's a job that isn't necessarily the same everyday.  But there are times where I wish I would have gone into teaching.
4. When do you put up your tree?
It depends what our work schedule is like.  This year, it went up the day before Thanksgiving, but without ornaments on it.  We just decorated it yesterday.

5. What is your favorite Holiday?
Christmas - I love the decorations, the music and just the winter feeling in the air.

Top Ten Tuesday - One of those days

Thanks to Oh Amanda for this week's Top Ten Tuesday idea!
Have had one of those days?

1.  Where you worked (or were up) all night?

2.  Then came home, ready to go to bed, and everyone is up and just getting started for the day?

3.  And then once you said your "good mornings" and gave kisses, you were SO excited to climb into the nice warm bed.

4.  Just to get woken up a little later because your husband/wife wants to ask you if s/he can wear a certain beanie.

5.  Then proceeds to say that they're going to take a shower in the same room where you're sleeping.

6.  When s/he knows that the little one is going to come in and want to play while s/he is in the shower.

7.  Then, just when you get settled back in to sleep, and the boys decide to leave the house for while

8.  The little one decides to test out the doorbell several times

9.  And the cat isn't happy that he thinks he's alone in the house now and proceeds to start yowling/meowing.

10.  And then it's time to get up and go back to work until the wee hours of the morning.

Not that that's the day I've had or anything.  Happy Tuesday!  It's now my weekend!!!

Meet Me On Monday

It's Monday and I'm still stuck here at work.  Been here since 5:45pm last night.  I've got a little less than an hour left, but then I come back at 3:45pm.  I hoping to sleep all day.
Enough of that, let's get going with the Meet Me On Monday questions.  Thanks to Never Growing Old for the questions.

1.  What is your favorite way to eat chicken?
I guess my favorite way would have to be marinated and baked.  Lately though I'll just throw it in the crock pot with some sauce and let it simmer for several hours.

2.  Have you decorated for Christmas yet?
Yes!  We have the outdoor decorations up and went and bought a fake tree last week.  We haven't decorated the tree just yet because we're having our carpets cleaned this week and I wanted to be able to easily move the tree.  My son is loving laying under the tree.  Sad we didn't do our tradition of cutting one down, but it's proving to have been a better idea to get the fake one.

3.  What is your favorite article of clothing?
Sweatpants/pajama bottoms.  They're SO comfortable.  Ahh, I wish I was home right now in a nice warm pair, snuggled in bed.  Almost time to go home.

4.  Do yo pay your bills online or write checks the old fashion way?
It wasn't until recently that I started paying bills online.  And actually the majority of my bills are on auto-pay.  I found myself forgetting to pay them ever since I had my son, so it was easier to put them on auto.  There are still some bills that I write checks for, but majority is done online.

5.  Do you make Christmas cookies?
No, but I have visions of someday doing it with my son.  I'd like to make sugar cookies and decorate them.

More Friday Fun - Friday Fill In's

I discovered this blog that looked like a lot of fun.  It's called Friday Fill-ins.  Works the same as the Five Question Friday, except you fill in the blank.  Easy peasy fun!

1. Three things I must have on my Thanksgiving table: Turkey, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes.

2. My cats are sacked out on the couch.

3. This is a new Friday fun blog for me.

4. My husband like to decorate as early as possible.

5. Oh, man, thankfully it's a holiday at work; no admin around!

6. I need to perfect the art of making stuffing.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep, tomorrow my plans include working and Sunday, I want to stay home, but have to work all night until Monday morning!

Five Question Friday

Don't forget to link up over at Mama M's blog!
1. What is your favorite part of a Thanksgiving meal?
The cranberry sauce.  But it has to be the jelled kind, not the one with bits of cranberries in it.  I know, it's processed and probably not traditional at all, but that's what I always had growing up.  It's my favorite.

2. Are you a host or a guest for Thanksgiving this year?
I am the host this year.  My husband's brother and wife came over.  It was a lot of fun.

3. When you think of one Thanksgiving tradition, what comes to mind?
     Football

4. You have two pieces of pie in front of you and you HAVE to eat one...do you choose pumpkin or pecan?
I wouldn't choose either one, but if I had to, I'd try the pecan.  I don't like pumpkin.  Something about the texture of the inside.

5. Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
Nope.  Although one year I didn't realize it was black Friday and went to Mervyns to find an area rug.  I realized what day it was when I got there.  I decided to go anyhow, I had nothing else going on.  It was fun to watch everyone get so upset and mad with the long lines.  This morning, on my way to work, the line at Best Buy was SO long.  I couldn't believe it.

Top Ten Tuesday - What's needed for Thanksgiving dinner

It's Top Ten Tuesday over at Amanda's blog.  For this week, I'll go with my top ten choices of things needed for Thanksgiving.  Think of it as a list to make sure I got everything for dinner.

1.  Turkey - definitely a must have.  Check

2.  Cranberry Sauce - Check

3.  Stuffing and all ingredients for it (celery, onions, broth) - Check

4.  Pumpkin Pie - Even though I don't like it, I still bought it for everyone else. And whipped cream!
     Check

5.  Mashed Potatoes - Coming Thursday, my sister-in-law will be making them here.

6.  Salad and fixings - Check

7.  Martinelli's Sparking Apple Cidar - We go though this like hot cakes, so I got 3 bottles.  Check

8.  Corn on the Cob - Check

9.  Dinner Rolls - Check

10.  Family - Yup, they'll be there!!

I can't wait.  I made my first turkey last year and it was awesome!  I got the same type/brand this year and it's sitting out now.  I need to get it thawed by Thursday, so I'll be bouncing it between the counter, cold water and the refrigerator for the next day.
Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!!!

Meet Me on Monday

Time to get to know each other on this fabulous Monday.  Thanks to Keenly Kristin, for our meet me on Monday questions!

1.  How many pillows do you sleep with?
I personally sleep with 1.  Hubby sleeps with 2; 1 normal pillow at his head and a smaller one in between his legs.  We also have a body pillow across the back of our bed.

2.  Where will you eat on Thanksgiving?
At the dinner table!  Lol...ok, seriously.  We're having dinner at home.  I'll be cooking most of the food.  My brother-in-law and sister-in-law will be joining us.  My SIL will be making her potatoes (potatoes, sour cream and LOTS of cheese.  Such goodness).

3.  Would you rather go to a party or host a party?
GO, definitely.  Aside from the whole clean up factor if I were to host it, I always have this worry when I host parties on how many people will actually show up.  Always been a fear of mine.

4.  How many purses (for the guys, wallets) do you own?
     I have 2, both Coach.

5.  What is your favorite kind of seafood?
Chillean Sea Bass - pretty much the only fish I will eat.  I'm not a big fish person.  Salmon? too fishy.  I've been told I should try Maui Maui, but I don't want to order it at a restaurant and then not like it.  I'll try it next time someone I go with orders it.

Five Question Friday - singing Christmas songs on my side of the bed

It's been a long week.  I was in a training class all week long, M-F 8-5.  I didn't get to enjoy my normal days off with the boys, but luckily my class was less than a mile from home, so I was able to hang out with them at lunch and be home very quickly at the end of the day.  And even though I had my computer with me all week in class, this is the first chance I've had to actually get on the Internet and really use my computer.  So here you have it, courtesy of Mama M, Five Question Friday!

1. What Christmas song do you loathe?
Hmmm, I can't think of any that I can't stand.  I'm sure there's one out there, but I just can't seem to think of it.

2. Do you and your significant other cuddle at night or sleep on opposite sides of the bed?
Opposite sides, we have our 22 month old in between us.

3. Have you ever had surgery?
Yes, twice.  Once when I was about 3 - they took a mass of stuff out of my left ankle to figure out what was going on with it.  They figured out I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.  And another for the birth of my son, c-section.

4. When do you typically have your holiday shopping done?
Completely done usually the week prior to Christmas.  I started tonight while shopping at Costco and will continue to buy things here and there until then.

5. If money were not an issue (and you HAD to pick something), what would your ultimate luxury item be?
     A house with a backyard.

Five Question Friday - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then link up over at Mama M's blog.

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
I'm sure all of us mom are going to put the same thing...childbirth.
I'm going to be similar and write down the childbirth process.  Let me explain...
I experienced 40 hours of labor.  I was dilating, so I couldn't get my epidural until about 30 minutes prior to being rolled in to the operating room for an emergency c-section.  So, I didn't experience the complete birthing part, but the part leading up to it was good enough for me.  Definitely the most painful, but the most rewarding in the end.

2. How much sleep do you get at night?
I probably get on average about 8 hours of sleep a night.  Our little guy sleeps with us currently, so that helps.  I think we're going to start moving him out of our bed though soon, so ask me this question again soon and my answer may be different.

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?
Um, I don't know.  I'd have to consult my mom on this one, but I seem to remember a story about my dad letting me unwrap all the Christmas presents one year because I was throwing a fit about something.  So, it may have been then; that would have been sometime between the ages of 1 and 6.
Although Santa isn't real, I still write tags on our presents from Santa.  My mom did the same thing.

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Wow, it's been FOREVER since we've been to the actual theater.  The last time I remember going was when I was pregnant with my son, so about 2 years ago.  I think it was a cartoon type of movie, but I can't remember which one.  Sad, but true.

5. What do you wear to bed?
Typically it's a pair of pajama bottoms and a t-shirt.  On really hot nights, I steal a pair of my husband's boxers and wear a tank top.

30 Days of Truth -Day 30 is finally here

I did it!!  I made it 30 days.  I know some days I had to catch up, but I completed it all.  Such a good feeling of accomplishment.

Day 30 → A letter to yourself, tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself.

I love being a mom and wife mostly.  I love that I'm good at my job and that I'm very knowledgeable about a lot of things within it.  I love that I enjoy being outside; surfing, hiking and playing at the park with my son.  I love that I'm some-what crafty; enjoying scrap booking and card making and taking photographs.  I love all the talents God has given me.  And most of all, I love that I completed this challenge - 30 Days of Truth!!

30 Days of Truth - Day 29

Day 29 → Something you hope to change about yourself. And why.
I want to become a stay at home mom.  I think I've mentioned this in other posts somewhere during my 30 days.  It's really a goal of mine right now.  I don't think it'll happen since we just bought our home last year, but hopefully it's in God's plan somewhere.  I just think I could a lot for my son (and hopefully future children) by staying home with him.  Sometimes it's SO hard with how mine and my husband's schedules work out.  For example, this year we both have to work Christmas.  I'm not terribly upset by it since my son will be 23 months, so I don't think he'll care at this point, but at some point he will.  It's just very hard.

Meet Me on Monday

1. What is your favorite kind of pie?
    Apple
2.  Have you ever ran out of gas in the car you were driving?
No.  I get really paranoid when my gas light comes on and make certain I find a gas station within 10 miles of it coming on.  I have friends that seem to drive forever when their gas light comes on; I just can't take the chance.
3.  How many languages do you speak?
    Just 1 - English.
Guess my high school French just never stuck with me.
4.  Do you take daily vitamins?
Yes, a prenatal and DHA supplement.  We're starting to try for baby #2.
5.  What is your worse eating habit?
Eating out; I do it way too often.

30 Days of Truth - Day 28

Day 28 → What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?
I would be SO very excited!!!  We're starting to try for #2, so it would be a blessing.

30 Days of Truth - Days 25, 26 & 27

My apologies for falling behind again.  I've been taking care of my son who is sick with the stomach flu.  It has not been fun.  Good thing he's so cute; otherwise, I'd be pretty mad at him for throwing up on me yesterday!

Day 25 → The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
     It's God's plan.

Day 26 → Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Since this is 30 days of "truth", I will be truthful.  Yes, when I was young because I was living in a household that wasn't the best.  I didn't have a plan or anything, just kinda thought if things would be better if I wasn't around.

Day 27 → What’s the best thing going for you right now?
My family.  They're what get me through each day.  Work is very difficult right now, so being with my family on my days off is so relaxing and rewarding.  I don't know who is missing out on the park more since my son is sick, me or him.

5 Question Friday - Ahh the beach

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then LINK UP on Mama M's blog!!

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?
Okay, I'm going to pick 2 here.  They kind of go together anyhow.
*My creative side - I would like to have a business of making cards and crafts. OR
*Photography - I really love pictures and wish I had enough talent to become a professional photographer.  I would really love to take surfing photos the most since that's a hobby of mine as well.

2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?
Well, since surfing is a hobby....THE BEACH of course! :o)

3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?
We always knew what our first born son's name would be, even before we were married.  First, it's biblical.  Second, he's named after a famous Christian surfer who was in a movie that my husband and I would watch over and over again.

4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!)
I guess mine would be buying scrapbook/craft supplies.  Although we're on a serious budget, so I've had to cut that cost quite a bit.

5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?
I'll go with neither.  It's currently a mess.  Mostly though, it's straightened.  Oh what I wouldn't give for a deep cleaned house.  First things first, I need to get rid of the downstairs carpets and replace them with hardwood.  I think I almost have my husband convinced to get them.

30 Days of Truth - Day 24

Day 24 → Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)

I'm going to dedicate this one to my husband...

1. Ocean Song by Jessica McLean - this is our wedding song, so it will always mean something to me.
2. I'll Stand by You by Carrie Underwood - this words to this song I believe reflect our relationship together prior to getting married when we stuck by each other through tough times.  And I'm sure it'll come in handy later in life when we have other tough times.
3. The Boys of Summer by the Ataris - such a good happy beat reminds me of surfing together
4.  Them Bones by Alice in Chains - our entrance song at our wedding reception - I love how excited you got when we walked in with this.

There are many others and I could probably go on and on, so I'll keep it short to these 4.

30 Days of Truth - Day 23

Day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.
Can I have the same answer as Day 22?  I wish I had just applied and seen if I'd be accepted.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

30 Days of Truth - Day 22

Day 22 → Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
I wish I hadn't given up on my dream to go to the University of Michigan. I didn't go because of a boy; wrong decision.  I guess had I gone I probably wouldn't have met my husband and be where I'm at today, happy.  Although, if it's truly God's plan for us to be together and have the life we have today, we would have ended up together, even if I had gone to UofM.  But that's the one thing I wish I hadn't done was give up on that dream.  Even today, I still think about applying, just to see if I would be accepted.  That would be all I would need to fullfill that dream of mine.

30 Days of Truth - Day 21

Day 21 → (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
Not being in the situation, it's hard to give a 100% honest answer.  I'd like to believe that, no matter what, I'd be there for my best friend.  Being that we've known each other for the past 12 years, we've been through everything together and know everything about each other.  I can also say that in 12 years, we've never gotten into a fight.  And now that she lives in Texas, it's even harder to get in a fight with her.

Sunday, October 31, 2010

30 Days of Truth - day 20

Day 20 → Your views on drugs and alcohol
I have a zero tolerence on drugs, think they're pointless.  Alcohol I'm okay with as long as people don't abuse it and are of legal drinking age.  I'd say about 90% of the calls we get at work involving any type of fight, someone involved has been drinking.  Too me, this is abusive of alcohol.  If you get to the point where you're acting like a fool, then you've had too much to drink.

30 days of truth - Days 18 & 19

Oh boy, these are getting hard...

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage.
I'm against it.  I believe that biblical marriage should be between a man and a woman and this country was founded on Christian beliefs.  Now, that being said, I'm fine if they allow for domestic partnerships.  But I also think they should allow partnerships for male/female couples that choose not to be married either, so they, too, can have benefits.  I don't believe it's fair to allow a gay couple receive benefits through domestic partnership, but not male/female couples.

Day 19 → What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
I believe in God, Creator of Heaven and Earth.  You can call it a religion if you want, but I like to think of it as Faith.

Five Question Friday - crazy tv watching, Christmas shopping fly

Thank you Mama M for this week's Five Question Friday questions!

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
Oooo, tough question - so many times I've wanted to be a fly on a wall in different rooms.  But if I had to pick just one...

Ok I skipped the question and still can't think of just one wall...

My husband went with Living Room - I have no idea why.

I guess I'd want to be on the wall where all the admin at work meet.  I'm curious what goes on in their minds sometimes.  Some things just don't make any sense.

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?

Normally I don't budget, but do to current economical circumstances in our house, we're definitely going to have to budget this year.  I don't think I'm going to be really specific, I'm just going to do 1 number for everything, presents, decorations, etc.  It's probably better for us to do it this way anyhow.

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
I've done 2 "fad" diets in my life; Weight Watchers and NutriSystem.  Weight Watchers, I believe, falls in the normal category for diets; NutriSystem isn't necessarily crazy, but I'll say it's the craziest.  The food was not that good.

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
   Sad, but there's several...

Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and I think I've seen all the One Tree Hills.

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?

I have 2...

Ocean Song by Jessica McLean - Our wedding song that has been a part of our life since the begining.

You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban - I used this song at my wedding for my father/daughter dance.  Almost 3 years later, my dad re-dedicated it to me on a DVD he made for my 30th birthday.  Even brings a tear to my husband's eye.

30 Days of Truth - Days 14, 15, 16 & 17

Ugh, wow! My goal of staying on top of my 30 days of truth did not work out this weekend (Tues-Thurs). So, here I go again with a make-up; completing days 14, 15, 16 & 17.

Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)
Hmmm, again with the letter thing.  I'm just going to tell a story.  I had a person I looked up to when I first started working in law enforcement.  This was back when I was very naive, which is how everyone is when they first start.  I looked up to this person, as s/he was my superior and had always taught me so many things.  Well, I knew a little about this person's family life; he was married and had at least 1 son.  Low and behold how disappointed I was when I saw him one day holding hands with another woman.  I knew this person wasn't his wife because it was another person who worked with us.  I was devastated.  I had trusted this person.
Well, I've gotten over it.  I've learned that almost all police officers cheat on their spouses (someday I'll write a book about my theories on why this happens).  I still consider this person a "hero" and truly wish I still worked with him.  God says we're not supposed to judge others; that's up to Him.  So I'm not going to judge why he did what he did.

Day 15 → Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
Hmmm, I can't think of anything that I've tried living without.

I guess the only thing that I can think of is my job.  That's sad to say.

When I was attending college, I worked at the University Police Department as a student assistant and court liaison.  I processed reports, took them down to the District Attorney's Office, I unlocked doors for professors, etc.  Well, I had to quit at one point because I needed to make more money to be able to pay for college.  So I left and got a full-time job doing technical customer service for Cidco (the original caller ID company).  Well, I missed working for the police department SO much.  I eventually left my normal full-time job and went back to temporarily being a Student Assistant while I waited for my background to be completed for a full-time 911 dispatcher position at the University Police Department.  I eventually got the full-time job, was able to finish obtaining my degree at almost next to nothing cost wise and now, 10 years later, I'm still a 911 dispatcher.

Day 16 → Someone or something you definitely could live without.

I'm sure I could live without any one of my guilty pleasures; pizza, ice cream, scrapbooking accessories, etc.

Day 17 → A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
I recently read 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life by Cami Walker.  It truly was an inspiring book.  Cami is battling MS and instead of dwelling on the pain and issues she's experiencing, she gets some advise to give 29 gifts in 29 days.  She takes charge of this challenge and truly comes out feeling better on the other side.  I'm not certain if I would be up for this challenge, but I believe I understand the overall meaning of the book.

Ok, again, I'm going to try really hard to keep on top of my postings for 30 days of Truth.  I only have 15 days left; I'm half way done!

Top Ten Tuesday - Christmas Already?

Thank you Amanda & The Diaper Diaries for this week's Top Ten Tuesday suggestions!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one already starting to think about Christmas.  I've been looking at different present options for my son and I've already started creating our yearly calendars to give as presents to our family.  I've looked a little bit at cards.  Last year we ordered from Tiny Prints and in the past we've ordered from KodakBUT, I just learned tonight that Shutterfly has over 700 to choose from; 700!
So, here's my top 10 choices...feel free to leave a comment on which one you like the best.  *note - the pictures shown are not of my family :o)

This one is my favorite so far.  I first saw it on The Diaper Diaries post and voted it as one of t1e ones she should pick for her own card.

Oh Holy Night is my husband's favorite Christmas song, which is why I picked this one.

The swirly things attracted me this this one.

This was the other one I liked on  The Diaper Diaries' list of choices.  I liked the colors and the headline at the top.

I'm always tempted to do a newsletter or something of that sort, giving a brief synopsis of what's happened over the year.  So I like this one because I'm able to give a little blurp about each family member.  I'd have to include the 2 kitties as one of the pictures; it might be hard to get a picture of them together.
This one again has my thoguht of doing a yearly synopsis of what's gone on; ute that each month would have a picture.  But, I kinda do this with the family calenders we give.

I like the colors in the Celebrate Family heading.

I could also do an ornament for people to hang on their tree.  Might be weird for non-family members though.

I'm also considering doing a Christmas magnet.  Different than the traditional Christmas cards.  People might like this.

Go here to see Shutterfly's options for cards.  They also have Thanksgiving cards and if you order now, you could probably even get some Halloween cards too!

Well, if you've made it this far, I've got great news.  I learned on The Diaper Diaries blog that you could possibly get 50 free cards from shutterfly.  Go here to submit your blog.  Select Clever 1000 as your referal source.
